…Yesterday.

Yes, hello, I’m still alive. Been away house-hunting - an arduous, painfully frustrating and knackering process. I’ll catch up with none of the KP comments your comments in the week, and will post something meaningful. In the meantime, Chris is the winner of a little competition I was running. Somehow, I was sent an invitation to something - Wordpress.com which is a new blogging service. Anyway, apparently you can’t yet sign up, and access is limited, and blah blah blah. Chris was by far the most imaginative, and had me pissing myself chuckling like a monkey on acid with his last effort. Enjoy!

To be sung to the tune of “Yesterday”

Yesterday, all my blogging was so passé
Then the Ashes came and made my day
Ohhhh, Martyn’s gone, to hideaway.

Yesterday, kangaroos were gloating night and day
Now they’re in total disarray
Ohhhh, the little urn, is here to stay.

Why, we, took so long, I don’t know, you just can’t say
Swing, pace, we have it all, now I love to watch England play, play play, play

Yesterday, England batters were glued to the crease
Now they’re smooth as soggy chips in grease
Ohhhh, the cricket Gods, have given me peace.

Yesterday, Ponting’s cheek was like a baby’s bum
Now it’s scarred and looking Oh so glum
Ohhhh, I believe his days are done.

Why, Will, won’t let me win, I don’t know, he wouldn’t say
I, hope, this will work, as I want, to blogaway, way way way, blogaway!

Great effort, and of particular brilliance was the penultimate verse:

Yesterday, Ponting’s cheek was like a baby’s bum
Now it’s scarred and looking Oh so glum

Superb work. No good if you don’t know Yesterday - but, who doesn’t?

Wordpress.com invite available

I’ve been sent an invitation for Wordpress.com and have one spare to give away. Not sure why I’ve been invited, but there you go! Wordpress.com is still closed to the general public, so this is your golden opportunity to get on there…
