    Rudd replaces ageing Howard

    A younger, vibrant, grinning Labour leader has been voted in. Remind you of Britain in 1997? Well, perhaps, but there are  few other comparisons between Tony Blair and Kevin Rudd, the soon-to-be Australia Prime Minister who has promised to withdraw Australia’s troops from Iraq. Or at least discuss it.

    Out goes John Howard, that rare beast: a politician who loves cricket. Rudd, from what little googling I have done, does not.

    So Ramps is going dancing. I had a chat with him the other day which you can read at Cricinfo. Should be fun to watch; he’s pretty down-to-earth about the whole thing. I wonder if Gough will be watching…

    Meanwhile, I’m in Devon - but it’s been a day to forget….
