The number of times I have been mistaken for the very talented lady who wrote Mortimer Also is greater even than the number of wickets taken by Martin Saggers in his Test career. We are not the same person. I have been introduced as 'the famous Jackanory writer' and even asked once to write a book for Virago Press, and this is why I now write only under my full name Jonathan Rice, although my friends still call me Jo (when they are being polite). Oh, and I'm also not the Jonathan Rice who wrote a book about the Coming Economic Crisis and how to avoid it, nor the Jonathan Rice who played Roy Orbison in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line. There are a lot of us about.
