Have no fear. A team without ‘FIGJAM’ may collectively perform better than one in which ten others have to accommodate that ego and the oh so sincere repeated assurances of how much he loves playing for England.
This series is very much being played in the players’ minds. England should not get themselves in a state about KP, rather make the most of the scrambled minds among Australia’s key men.
Besides, the crowd at Edgbaston will be like an extra man for England.

Well, an opportunity for Bell. He didn’t disgrace himself against the aussies in the last Ashes series, I guess he’s a better bet than Shah.
Go for it, Belly.

Is it un-sportsman-like to be happy about this news? Not that we necessarily need the help but then again when decisions like the Strauss catch go against us maybe its karma.
I also came across this link that lets you send your cheer to Ponting and the boys…

Is there really no-one else they can try? Mr Flaky himself. What about Denly or Moore or one of the other young batsmen? Why is it that selectors become so single-minded about players? Look at the continued selection of the Ms Broad for an example of myopia. 19 tests and an average back over 40.
Still with the Oz bowling attack in the state it is, Bell will probably do fine unless he gets the yips against Hilfy.

Positivity, Will, positivity! I’m feeling somewhat less positive about the prospects of Warwickshire’s survival in Division One without Bell – and their chances of qualifying for Twenty20 Finals day on Monday.

I think England will miss KP enormously. Australian fans like myself, on the other hand, are delighted! We won’t miss him at all! He’s easily England’s best, most dangerous batsman, and for him to be out for the final three Tests is a little bit of luck in an otherwise unlucky series. Granted, it is unfortunate that England can’t be at full strength, as it’s always better to defeat a side that is offering its best players. But I won’t be losing sleep over that one.

Shame about KP. I,for one, would like Australia to prevail against the best England have to offer.

Its a good thing that England have batsman to number 11!
