Cricinfo broke this an hour ago. He’s reportedly going to give his side of the story after he arrives back in Australia (hopefully not after draining the duty free). It’s all rather sad now. Hugely gifted player and his career’s come to a drunken full stop.

Symonds is a blithering idiot.
It’s all well and good to claim this is his nature Dave, but for fucks sake…. can you really trust the judgement of someone who pulls a stunt like this given recent events?
The Australian cricket system got strong because of a lack of mercy, and they’d already given him too many chances for someone who has failed to display useful form recently.
Sure, the board fucked him over with regard to MonkeyGate. He’s a big boy, and should have dealt with it.

What a shame, but he has only himself to blame. Where will it end on his downward spiral. I cant see him ever playing for australia again. Its interesting to see his team mates come out in support. You would think they were getting sick of him continually being unavailable to play due to these indiscretions. I wonder what they are privy to that we are not being told.
