with our (Aust) poor selection of spin bowlers, we’re becoming more and more like The Motherland everyday.
Krazy’s figures
By Will 2 years ago, at the start of October Add your comment below
I have to feel some sympathy towards Australia’s new spin-wizard, Jason “Krazy” Krejza. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to offer any. No, having sent the occasional spinless English spinner to Australia for quite a long time, it’s time to reap revenge and wallow in his discomfort. His figures today were 0 for 123 from 20 overs.
I’m genuinely sorry to lower myself to this level, but face it Aussies, you’ve had it coming ever since Warne retired. [tongue firmly in cheek]

Ah she'll be right. Warney had a crap first game against the Indians too. Stick with him and I'll provide the blind optimism and maybe something good will happen.

Perhaps I was being a bit blunt, but personally I just find this format to be too cluttered. The old one was very simple, elegant and user-friendly, and if you wanted to reply to a post all you had to do was reply to the poster by name and you could get your point across. Plus, you could see the no. of comments on the blog itself, so you knew instantly if there had been any more discussion under that thread. Then again, this is coming from someone who types his SMS's in correct full English spelling and grammar, so I might be in the minority on this.
Still, I'll give it time.

Can you be more detailed? What's wrong with it?

I think it should be pointed out that Krejza's f-c figures are almost identical to the offie's that we selected for the last tour, Nathan Hauritz. Hauritz took 5-104 in the only Test he played, so I don't think too much can be read into Krejza's performance today. Besides which, we have McGain on the tour and the promising Beau Casson in state cricket, so hopefully one of them will become a Test-class spin bowler.
By the way, the new comments format sucks, compared to what you had before.

A technicality I did find interesting was that Ponting practiced defensive fields in this warm up match and yet, with a defensive field to a spinner, Krejza still conceded 6.15 runs per over. Ponting put out a long-on to rule out the straight lofted drive and Sharma immediately played the straight lofted drive over the long-on fielder for six. He was that sure of middling it. Should Ponting play a spinner at all at Bangalore? Has he got a spinner in the squad who can either contain India or take wickets? If the answer is no, there's no point whatever the conditions. Where's Tait?

Thanks for the feedback. Why do they suck? It's a little buggy, but I'm testing it for a company. Offers so much more; you can reply to comments directly, reply-by-email, track them by RSS and track individual threads too. If it's shit I'll remove it, but give it a week or so.

Indo aus series-Ponting is at best a very good player. For him to really be regarded as a great of the game he needs to make runs in india.120 out of his 10000 runs have come here.Average 12,he's just played 1 test in pak too.He enjoys the benefits of the ashes series every 18 months murdering poor british bowlers. If India got to play against engalnd that often, sachin would have 5000more runs, kumble a 1000 wickets & bhajji about 500.Even with the pathetic fitness levels ,India should win.

As for aus,I won't count them out.Huge fan of hayden. My 2nd favourite batsman ever after sehwag. He along with stuart clark are going to be important. All you australians who think india=dustbowls think again.Mohali is 1 of the quickest wickets in the world &except fordelhi the other 2 venues will be slow ,somewhat low but will seam around.__Aus best chance at mohali.& No they shouldn't play the spinner ,he wouldn't get into a high school team in New delhi.

I've twice tried to reply directly to your questions Will, on Friday night and Sarurday morning, but as yet neither of them have gone through, so I'm hoping that this will. Basically I think this is too cluttered, and it takes too long for comments to appear, as opposed to the old format where it was instant. Also the fact that you have to re-type you information (name, e-mail and blog URL) every time you want to comment is a little inconvenient. As to the benefits of direct replies, I thought that discussions flowed perfectly smoothly without them before- it was always obvious who was responding to what.

And another thing I don't like is that before the comments were instantly posted, whereas now it looks like you have to wait several hours to see if your comment's gone through. I sent a reply to this last night but it hasn't appeared yet, so I don't know if I've done something wrong and I have to re-do it, or if it'll appear five or six hours from now.

Why doesn't it show how many comments are on a post on the main page any more? I don't mind the new comments format, but like to see how many comments are on an article before checking them out.

20 overs 123 and 11 overs 76 he's a goner
October 7th, 2008 at 6.19 am
Krusty, it shows the number of comments at the top. Unless you can't see them?
October 7th, 2008 at 7.48 am
I can see them once I clck on the post, but it is on the homepage that I can't see how many comments have been made.

I agree with Marcus here. Very slow for the comment to go through.
