England v South Africa, 1st Test, Lord’s, 1st day – live chat

By Will 2 years ago, mid-July Add your comment below

I thought I’d start up the live-chats we did a couple of years ago, now that the South Africans are here and let’s face it…it should be a more engaging series than the New Zealanders’ (though I personally thought it was a belter against the Kiwis).

So, keep glued to Cricinfo’s scorecard and whatever else, and in the meantime chat away in the comments below.

Hello chaps. Does anyone have a tip for finding TMS if you’re abroad? I managed to listen to the West Indies series last year down here in Australia but haven’t tried since. I fancy listening to this test series though, it should be a cracker!

It’s every England blogger’s favourite subject but this, really must be the final judgement on Ian Bell. If he cowers under pressure now he must placed alongside Hick and Ramps as gifted failures.

I’m so nervous, England need to win the toss and bowl under clouds.

Joanne, I’m listening to it in Belgium, as long as you’ve got the BBC site on UK edition (which is an option below the left hand menu) you should be fine.

    sahilvaughan,

thanks so much for the help so this
Yank can learn more about cricket!

I kept trying to listen on the bbc radio
site, but it wasn’t working. Then I gave
it a go on the regular BBC site.

Got into cricket last summer watching
highlights of the County Cricket action
    on Sky Sports News.

Ah fantastic, this is quite the game already. Could this be the making of Ian Bell?

What county cricket side does everyone follow here?
I figure I would have more fun if I had a CCC to support.
    Any suggestions?

As a South African supporter living in the UK, I couldn’t be more embarrased!!! Is the goal of the Proteas to make sure everyone in the Eng side get their 100??? The worst mistake you can ever make is to give Eng too much respect. They are a bunch of chavs and SA are allowing them to run away with the test! Go Bokke!

    @sahilvaughan

    Good enough for you?

I don’t know. We’ll have to see. Looks like our lads grew some balls over-night. The fat umpire hasn’t sung yet.
