I saw Bresnan’s crucial final over in that match and he showed great control in consistently sending down yorkers. England are looking for a ‘death bowler’ at the moment…

County cricket has been derided for not being competitive enough and an often overlooked benefit of Twenty20 is its schooling of county players in pressurised situations. The higher stakes this season only help that.

Bresnan’s display in a tight Roses match will therefore hopefully have been noted.

Well this was his chance to show the selectors Freddie is back, his chance to entertain…..A golden duck, do we really want him back?
I agree with Nick though Bresnan was fantastic in that game, he should certainly be in the England Lions squad at the moment
