Shame there aren’t any country boys in the squad. I’d still take R&B over heavy metal, though.
Shocking revelations from Ross Taylor

Musical tastes in the team are split. Jamie, Iain and Michael Mason are keen on bogan music (heavy metal and pub rock bands; they wear black t-shirts). Dan, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel and myself are into R&B. Being from Oxford in North Canterbury, Peter must have thought R&B meant Red and Black when he produced his rugby team’s theme song.
I, too, need to get my act together after leaving the New Zealand flag in my room more than once. Still, it’s time we were much tougher on duty evaders and the time for bigger fines must be near. In Peter’s case, surely the words “you’re fired”, from The Apprentice are not far away.
I’ve suddenly lost all respect for Vettori and Oram. From Ross Taylor’s tour diary at Cricinfo.

I don’t think there are any metallers, or even rockers, in the England side. Sidebottom at a push, with that mop on his head…but the rest seem to be boyband specialists

Boybands? The sooner Hoggard gets back the better- not only is his Johnny Cash selection far better than anything else the team can boast, but it has a proven track record of affecting the team’s results positively too!

Isn’t Broad’s nickname ‘Westlife’?…
‘Two metre Peter’ Fulton might be hearing the words ‘you’re hired’ instead – his 57 against Northants might see him get the nod for the final Test ahead of Marshall.

Let’s talk 10,000 runs.

I guess Peter Fulton can rest easy now- Canterbury Crusaders just beat the NSW Waratahs in the Super 14 Rugby final.
10,000 runs is a big feat, Michael, but I understand Katich was really going through his 9 lives fast. He obviously played well, but I can’t understand why they take 30-somethings on tour instead of giving young players some experience.

I was actually referring to the news worthy item of Ricky Ponting’s 10,000th test run. No one was watching from the Viv Richards Ground and it seems The Corridor isn’t watching either?
Regarding Katich; did you happen to notice his Pura Cup form? Time and time again Australia’s so called Dad’s Army policy pays off as our elder statesmen continue to reward the faith of the Selectors. We keep getting it right. Excluding Stuart MacGill. Good call on time up. Time was up.

I’m just watching the 4th ODI, and WHAT is with the Eminem? I’d even take metal over rap. At the WACA you get The Living End, Creedence, The Spencer Davis Group- good music all- but all I’ve heard is dreadful rap at the Oval.
