Playfair Cricket Annual 2008

Monty Panesar is this year’s victim on the front cover of the Playfair Cricket Annual. It’s always interesting to see who is chosen and, more often than not, it’s a bit of a poisoned chalice. It’s out on April 3 and available to pre-order for a mere £4.89.

Well, it certainly wouldn’t be Harbhajan Singh on the cover of “Play Fair” now, would it?

I find it incredible that the hugely overrated Panesar should get on the front cover that has been graced by so many outstanding cricketers over the years. Whoever chose him must have fallen into the trap that many others have who hero worship this distinctly average county cricketer.
