"I think their minds were already on the plane home. I am just not sure they were here to play today."
Jamie Siddons on Bangladesh's performance in the last league match of the Asia Cup Jul 4, 2008
There’s a strong chance Richard Boock, the New Zealand journalist, may never leave Australia alive - assuming, that is, he ever receives an invitation to visit the country. Yesterday, he launched a stingingly hilarious rant on Australia’s media following the recentmonkey-business:
Then there was the Australian cricket media who, with a few notable exceptions, appear to be the most sycophantic group of arse-crawlers ever assembled in one nation, to the extent that it was impossible last week to gain any sort of accurate or at least balanced picture of proceedings.
New Zealanders really know how to wind up the Aussies. Read the full piece here.
it’s just penis envy on the Kiwis part. It upsets them that we never pay them much attention.
Anid you hear that a Kiwi bowler ( of Anglo background) got a 4 match ban for calling another player, of Sri Lankan background, a ‘f….. monkey” the other day? Apparently it hasn’t yet occurred to them that calling someone a monkey is now considered a bit controversial.
I live right here in Australia. I read a lot of the national sports pages.
I would say from the moment Kumble gave that big sore loser speech after the Sydney Test, articles in Aussie papers were three to one for the Indian side and against the Australian team. I hardly saw an article in defence of the Australian team. There were a few. Probably the only ones Boock read.
Most of the articles here lead with the fact that India was robbed by poor umpiring decisions. Which is true, to a point. But it wasn’t anyone else who collapsed but the Indian batsman on day 5. They can’t blame that on anyone but themselves.
Most of the supportive articles for Australia appeared after the Indian team threatened to pull out if it didn’t get its way. Thats when we raised the flag. No good though. They got their way anyway. The Indians even complained and got the “green” WACA pitch mowed before the game. Amazing. LOL
We will let India bully us around, change umpires, re-hear cases, bully us with money issues.
Then we will thrash the sooks out where it counts. On the field.
The kiwi journalist is right. The aussies have squealed like little girls, they deserve exactly what hey got.
” The Indians even complained and got the “green” WACA pitch mowed before the game. Amazing. LOL”
Listen, you obviously believe the aussie media don’t you??
The single most biased media in the world ,who join news channels only to defend their team & prove to the naive setion of aussies how great your team is.The perth pitch was the bounciest pitch in the test series.Yiu got thrashed in 3 & something days.I don’t see you winning even the practise games in india.1-0 or 2-0 to india.4rth ,5th & 6th choice pacers for india dominated you.
3:1 you say, huh??
Peter lalor??heard of him.I don’t even want to repeat the stuff he writes, check it out yourself.Ever since ponting ,hat lucky SOB(he should have been banned for5 games like latif of pakistan for the same offence & by the same match referee) gave that shitty crybaby line about his integrity, the aussie media has vehemently supported the aussie team.Symonds face was morphed onto a hindu god. What would hae happened if michael’pup’ ‘bark’s face would have been morphed onto the virgin mary & ricky’punter’ ‘pointing to the umpire’s face would have been morphed onto jesus christ??
Again, you believe the aussie media when they tell u a plane has been chartered. What plane??I have many freinds in aus, some of who are journalists & they have no words to defend the behaviour of their team & a few other journos. Many prominent australians have apologised to the indians on australian teams behalf, but your media is not upto the mark & generally vitriolic.I think its because you have a small population & you feel that you have to stand up for each other.Don’t be so paranoid. What do you have to say about the under 10 team literally jumping off the plane without any practise & smashing you at the ground where india last won in 1986??New times aussie guy.Get used to losing.Since 1998, there have been 11 games each in india & aus, the scoreline is 10-8 to aus.About equal isn’t it??By the next ind-aus series we’ll either be equal or in the lead.Youhave to understand that india as a nation has woken up to sport just now as it wasn’t considered a viable career option. Now we have golfers, race drivers, tennis players,a good cricket team, shooters, archers, weightlifters, wrestlers & boxing has got a boost as well.Mindsport like chess with Vishy Anand too.Btw i won’t be surprised if you go to pakistan, to see australia lose, even in South africa.India, you have no chance, like i said ,not even a practise game will be won bby the aussies.
Including pointless never ending money spinning ODIs and junk 20-20 games to bolster the figures, eh?
You are obviously not a cricket fan. Just another “nobody” with a chip on its shoulder.
You should not read the rubbish in your OWN media.
India is no long term threat to anyone. An ageing middle is India’s biggest worry.
That and the fact that nearly a third of your team sulk nearly all the time. Yuvraj Singh is a 100% baby.
Australia is going thru a transition as it did in 2005. It will still be a powerhouse team. Australia was written off after Taylor left. After Waugh left. After Warne left.
Our players are blooded in the Sheffield Shield competition, which is the highest calibre dometic competitiion in the world. That is why when they stert playing for Australia they seem ready-made .
Brett Lee is bowling better than ever. Clark has replaced McGrath. Michael Clark is really coming on. Great catch he took, by the way, in Sydney. Mitchell is the find of the year. Katich is waiting in the woings. Hadden will be a very good replacement for Gilly.
India has some good up and comers. BUT WHO WILL REPLACE: Tendulkar, Laxman, Ganguly.
Man, your team is in trouble! We couldn’t replace Warne. But he is only one player. You are soon going to lose your entire middle order batting lineup which is the core of your team! LOSER. LOL
The West Indies are the team. So is South Africa.
Whingia will end up with a really good one day or 20-20 competition. Good for you.
I went to Fiji late last year. They love Australians over there. Hate Indians. Why is that?
Listen boy, here here…
In your emotionally charged 15 year old brain if there was an ounce of logic you would have understood what i said. But thats a big ‘if’ isn’t it??
There are enough batsman around to replace the middle order. There is yuvraj, sharma, raina, kaarthick, gambhir.
In our media there isn’t the constant hype which goes on in australia about spirited but not great players like mike bark & squealer symonds.btw “Including pointless never ending money spinning ODIs and junk 20-20 games to bolster the figures, eh?” what was that?? This proves that you get influenced into believing shit by the crap section of your media (which is a pretty big section, might I add). This is the list of games that india have won , 1 each in delhi, ahmedabad, calcutta, bombay, adelaide, perth & 2 in chennai. I’m sure you know the 10 aussie wins out of which one was sydney.
Who is going to replace Hayden, Gilchrist, ponting.Your top 3 are leaving too, boy.& since when did warne become a threat?? I can remember every batsman from sidhu, to the new generation players like irfan & even zaheer smacking him out of the park.He can bowl out incompetent batsman incapable of playing spin from other countries ,he’s never troubled a tailender from india.Find replacements for your three & then open your mouth.I’m sure you will mindlessly point to yuvraj’s bad form on this tour.Let me remind you of ‘the greatest player in the world’ ricky ponting’s tour of india.Yuvraj made more in a single innings than sticky did in the entire tour.Lee isn’t going to play forever & pray why doesn’t he play tests in india??I didn’t say that australia will lose everything. It’s still a good team. They are fighters , i have respect for their ability to keep fighting.
I believe you will still win against a lot of teams but not all.Read whta i’ve written in the previous post.”i won’t be surprised if you go to pakistan, to see australia lose, even in South africa.India, you have no chance, like i said ,not even a practise game will be won bby the aussies.”This is what i’ve said , i think any1 with something b/w their ears will agree.
I’ve been to a lot of places where natives hate australians.
Why is that??
If brains were gasoline, you wouldn’t have enough to drive an ant’s Go-cart around the inside of a bottle cap. Clearly, the full area of your ignorance is not yet mapped. We are presently only exploring the fringes of that vast expanse.
WHen you come in october, it’ll be WINdia & LOSStralia.
Now, if you care to apologize for wasting my shamefully wasted time, I’ll consider accepting it.
