How to put off your readers, by John Buchanan. Here’s his opening par in a piece for ABC:
In my recent book, “If Better is Possible”, I have a chapter on ‘Silver Linings’ which discusses the beneficial outcomes that can flow from circumstances of darkness and destructive conflict, if one is prepared to look for them!….a lot more on that later.
Those final six words are enough to prompt the reader to attach the hose and start the car…
