  • I think those speed guns are a load of crap. Somehow the white ball goes faster - I bowled 83-84mph in the Test match, and 93mph in the one-dayers. It's crazy. I hadn't bowled a ball for ten days.

    Rudd replaces ageing Howard

By Will last year, at the end of November Leave a comment on this post

A younger, vibrant, grinning Labour leader has been voted in. Remind you of Britain in 1997? Well, perhaps, but there are  few other comparisons between Tony Blair and Kevin Rudd, the soon-to-be Australia Prime Minister who has promised to withdraw Australia’s troops from Iraq. Or at least discuss it.

Out goes John Howard, that rare beast: a politician who loves cricket. Rudd, from what little googling I have done, does not.

Fortunately Patrick has done all the hard googleage for me so go and read his post to find out more.

What I’m really going to miss is two of the main ministers being named Abbott and Costello. It was just too perfect.
