Video of Lehmann’s final one-day innings

By Will last year, at the end of November Leave a comment on this post

Nice line on the recently retired Darren Lehmann:

Lehmann was never less than a sublime batsman. He was not so much unorthodox as post-orthodox. Batsmen talk of using the length of the crease, but few can have used its width as he did. There he was the other night in Adelaide, taking a stance two feet outside leg stump to face Brad Hogg and utterly confounding him. Next week, Hogg will be playing for Australia, Lehmann for no one.

And you can see Lehmann’s brilliant 126* below, including the hammering he gave Hogg (who was clueless). What a knock. 126 not out in your final one-dayer - and just check out the final shot to secure South Australia’s win.

Those seagulls fielding at fine leg were useless.

At least he was able to go out in style.!! would be crap to go out for duck on your last match.

I think the blame for the Warriors’ not defending 300 ought to go straight to Adam Voges and his incompetent captaincy. Nevertheless, I can’t fault Lehmann’s great innings- he was always a good player to watch, and now he’s done it again in the Pura Cup. The only complaint I’ve got is that it HAD to come against the Warriors. :(

I always remembered Matt Elliott as being an ugly bloke with big ears. Now I can add “with a ridiculous tache” to the list…
