The really useful thing, Scott, is that, with the short format, here in Oz we don’t have to stay up half the night just to see the matches. Of course, if you’re reduced to watching Channel 9 coverage, it’s even shorter, because they only start their coverage after all their prime-time rubbish shows are finished ie. 10 overs into the match.

Can you keep up with all the action? I certainly can’t. Apparently Brett Lee took a hat-trick last night and the South Africans beat the English, meanwhile the Indians lost to New Zealand, and in the long grass, Sri Lanka are having a fine tournament.
There’s more cricket then you can poke a stump at just at the moment, with these games going hither and yon- a nice change from the longer format World Cup. Discuss events as they occur.

Well, I’ve just been watching the shameful sight of England ruining their best bowler. For Christ’s sake, send Freddie home before you wreck him completely. I agree with Ponting who said England should be resting him properly.
I’m also pleased with Vettori coming out and saying he’s not that taken with 20-20 despite being man of the match the other day. He’s taken some stick for it today — being accused of undermining his own team.

Congratulations to the Kiwis! I hope all those that criticized Vettori eat humble pie now.

I thought England did well to only concede 7 extras but the Kiwis gave away only one. Great effort which proved the difference.

I agree Kathy; good on Vettori for coming out and saying how he feels about the ADD version of the game. And to Gilchrist and Symonds as well. Though I still want Australia to win it because we’re in it…
