Pretty cool moment for us today when Sambit Bal, our editor, was invited onto Test Match Special during the tea interval of the 2nd Test at Trent Bridge. Jonathan Agnew knows and likes Cricinfo, but it was nevertheless oddly exciting to hear him be so amazed at how Sambit (and us) manage to produce a site of such breadth and depth. Anyway, it might be online if you fancy a listen - check TMS’s site.

Yes, i second Marcus here. The quality has gone down, and whats worse, it doesn’t look like it will back on track again. I might not venture here again. Not in the same class, as it was when England won the Ashes. At that time, the writing, the coverage was just superb.

As far as Indian fans are concerned, yes we take ourselves seriously, thank god we did, or else how could you explain Zaheer Khan getting all pumped up?

The English Test line-up for the next team, might just have Stuart Board. I don’t who they are gonna drop, coz Board gives a lot of flexibility in batting department too, and we are not even started to talk about the disconcerning bounce he gets out of the wicket. I can tell you, Indian batsmen won’t be too happy to see Board on board.

People should not make too much out of Tremlett’s 3 wickets in 4th innings. It is relatively easy bowling short burts of fast bowling, then carrying it out for an innings. For me his intensity, aggression and threat was never up there.
