No rain here; sunburn weather, if anything:
Celebrity commentators: Jools Holland
By Will last year, at the end of May Leave a comment on this post
As predicted, the rain is tumbling down. Not quite as bad in Leeds as it is here in London, which is encouraging, but I doubt there’ll be any play at Headingley until mid-afternoon. Hey ho (Flint), stick some music on, make a cuppa cha. I’m watching Jools Holland’s Later from last week with a frightening looking Joan Armatrading bitching it on a Fender. Rawk. Incidentally, Jools would be a shoo-in for my Celebrity Cricket Commentators list - welcoming everyone in the comm box. “And here, today, we have the brilliant, the extraordinary, the multi talented…AGGERS! Thank you!†etc.
So Jools would be one, Alan Partridge another. Who else?

The ultimate combination of rock and cricket must be Whispering Bob Harris. Pity he is not interested in our sport.
On the other hand, could you get you mind around listening to the late & great John Peel commentating on Test cricket?
Apologies to the non-UK bloggers, but these 2 are famous UK radio DJs.

oops, my last comment seems to have been lost in the ether.
Imagine Whispering Bob Harris or John Peel combining rock and cricket. Awesome.

Peel and Harris are good calls, but I think it depends on the type of game and the passages of play.
A run-of-the mill 296-6 kind of day against India in some pleasant weather, I’d like to settle back in the garden on a deck chair to an Anthony Hopkins or possibly a Patrick Stewart.
Friday afternoon, wickets tumbling to an England attack in a tight Ashes encounter, you need energy and passion. I think John Motson could make the switch. Johnny Vaughan would more than hold his own.
I’d like to hear Noel and Liam Gallagher commentating together on TMS.
Karl Pilkington should replace Bill Frindall.
