  • "The fact is that once I was playing again I was automatically available for everything on the schedule and that meant Stanford. I make no apologies for that and, as for the suggestion that I should waive the fee or give it to charity, I don't see why I should be a special case."
Steve Harmison feels strongly about suggestions that he came out of one-day retirement in order to play the Stanford Twenty20 for 20

    Twit of a bat

Are we all correct in our sneaking suspicion that Matt Prior, despite a sterling display, is - how can i put this? - something of a twat? I see it as God’s perverse way of answering the prayers of the English cricket fan: “you said you wanted high achievers, didn’t you? You said you were sick of charming stylists, David Gowers and Mike Athertons, didn’t you? So what more could you want than Kevin Pietersen and Matt Prior?”

    I suppose we’ll have to take what we’re given…

I agree that we should take what we can get. I must ask though, what leads you to brand him a twat?

I didn’t. It was a comment left from someone else

It’s just a suggestion from a fellow blogger that seems to be based on little more than a hunch or a ‘feeling’…

I have a hunch or a feeling that that guy might be right.

    1. The announcement is made that Peter Moores has got the job. 2 minutes later Prior is across the airwaves saying he is the best coach ever.

    2. He calls Peter Moores, “Moores-ey.”

    3. There’s that business with Shane Warne in the Hants v Sussex game. Reading between the lines of that incident, Prior tried it on a bit - but Warney taught him a lesson or two about sledging. Chris Adams had to come out and defend Prior in the press afterwards, as it appeared that Prior had “mentally disintegrated,” in the process.

If a twat scores Test hundreds and keeps wicket immaculately however, he can play for England as long as he likes.

I’ve heard from a fairly good source that freddy agrees with you, and thinks he is indeed a complete twat - freddy of course was v.good mates with geraint, anyway he’l have to warm to prior as he can bat exceptionally well and will probably play a 100 tests.

I have no opinion either way as I’ve never met him but he does look like sonia from eastenders.
