If you can stomach it, Matt Sterne has taken some photos of the Australian winners in Sydney.

Actually, it was a remarkably low-key victory celebration. No open-topped buses, no OAM’s – the footy season is in full swing here, and no-one is much interested in the returning cricketers who, ho hum, are unbeaten champions of the world. They weren’t exactly mobbed. McGrath a had a few babies thrust at him, cricket tragic John Howard was hovering but otherwise it was an orderly crowd who had nothing better to do with their lunchtime. (no, I wasn’t there, just saw it on TV – my mother told me about the babies).
I couldn’t help but think that in virutally any other contry in the world, bar NZ, they would have at least been given the keys to the city. Sth.Africa and Sri Lanka would’ve hailed them as conquering racial divide, in England they would have been knighted, In India they would have been deified. But we’re like that here – hopefully it stops them from getting complacent.

Well done, Aussies!
Another tremendous campaign. The bar remains set seemingly just out of reach of all comers.
The next frontier will be a Test lineup substantially revamped. That will be interesting to watch too….
