I was listening and Cook got his century. Great fun. Listen in on Lords.org if you don’t believe me.

The English season finally got underway today, even though I still feel as though it’s the middle of winter, what with this blasted World Cup dragging on for an eternity. Here’s a pic from today’s opener, MCC v Sussex, from Martin Williamson - my boss and fellow Cricinfo winner and photo phanatic.

Spot the mistake. Pleasingly, despite today’s unseasonal sunny cheer, the day ended in true early-season style: bad light stopped play.

It’s nice to know that I’ve now got some proper cricket to distract from this dragging ODI nonsense. Can’t wait to get down to Trent Bridge on Wednesday.
To be honest I would rather watch MCC vs Sussex then YET ANOTHER ODI game. I’m hoping that England’s Tests are going to be broadcast Down Under again- My white blood cell count is down and it takes Tests to restore it.
Even just watching the live score card made me realise how tired I am of ODIs.
Congrats Cooky… brilliant start to the summer.
