Australia v Ireland, Super Eights, Barbados

Very late on this one- Ponting showing no sense of adventure, sent Ireland in and as I write they are 84 for 9. All in all a brave effort by the Irish so far, and some of Australia’s fielding will cause Ponting some concern. But the luck of the Irish isn’t in Barbados today.

    Disappointing Ricky!

I was expecting an all-nighter, instead I’ve been dealt an ‘all-over-before-3am’ card.

    Damn.

Respect to the Aussies. That’s the way to play it. They show the correct attitude for winning another World Cup. Some other nations should have done this before and not have feared possible upsets.
Apart from this some of Tait’s deliveries where horrible. You might be able to do this against the Irish but this will be no good in decisive matches.

Heh, I liked how the school children were chanting for a six at the end, and Hussey planted his pull-shot right into their area.

Surprisingly large crowd there at the end.

Well, only a nine-wicket win! Very disappointing, Australia. Perhaps you could take some inspiration from New Zealand’s 10-wicket win over Australia in the Chappell-Hadlee series a few weeks back. ;-)

Like how Tait bowled to England you mean?
