Bugger - a rain delay. As if it isn’t a late enough start normally . . .
England v Kenya, World Cup, Gros Islet

Okay, Andrew Flintoff, here’s your chance. Apparently he’s been stepping up the gas in the nets - and also bowling quite fast - so today’s match against Kenya represents an ideal opportunity for him to single handedly boost England’s fledgling confidence. Kenya aren’t at their best and ought to be swept aside…well, quite. Leave your comments below, and keep an eye on the scorecard.

Well, I read Kenya’s innings on the Guardian OBO and it didn’t sound a terribly convincing performance from England. I know the pitch is different but the Aust/SA game sounds like it’s in a totally different league.

Congratulations England.

Well, England are through, which is better than their last two World Cups (though taking a moral stand on Zimbabwe certainly cost them last time), but I’m afraid even this win didn’t fill me with much joy and confidence. They still seem all over the place. Maybe they’re just concentrating on peaking at the right time.
Remind me, someone, what’s been the politics around Zimbabwe taking part this time? Does cricinfo have a story in the archives, Will?
