Is that it?! I heard the actual incident on video and can’t believe the fuss being made about it. If Gibbs were the only person ever to say such a thing, maybe, but these sorts of comments are so common at the cricket(and other sports) by spectators and players from all countries that I wonder why he is being made an an example of? Placating the Pakistanis AGAIN? I notice noone has told us what the Pakistani spectators were saying to Gibbs, to get such a response. Were they fined? Were they removed from the ground? Do the Pakistan management even care? How do we know what what sort of abuse teams who speak a language othert than English are throwing at the opposition, secure in the knowledge that they can’t be understood? This needs some to be a level playing field if fines and suspensions are going to be carried out.

Obviously whatever the crowd did out there has gotten through the thin skin. The South Africans are happy with sledging as long its them thats dishing it out. If they can’t take the heat then they should stay out of the sun.

I don’t think Gibbs was being racist (he’s coloured isn’t he?) but his use of the F word earns him his test ban. No doubt! He represents his country and he should behave accordingly.

We im black and still love Gibbs but all of the media and the update we get i would say he is racist but is it true? What does he have to say about the comments he makes?
