Australia v England, 5th Test, Sydney, 3rd day

By Will last year, at the start of January Leave a comment on this post

The third day from the SCG. We could be in for a spectacular display of fireworks, none of which I will see as I’ll be asleep. In fact, it could even be all over by the time I arise from my slumber.

Chat away!

Another Hussey hundred? Dare I say Symonds? If he stays around for a while it should be a lot of fun. =)

Sorry Michael, Aunty Beeb has lost the line and I know I have a merciless day in the office tomorrow. No Chardonnay tonight. Must sleep! It’s past 1am here. Night, night all.

P.S. I am not a giver-upper! I am keeping the radio on as I crawl under the covers - not giving up that easy, just leaving the blog.

I’m with you. I love falling asleep to the sounds of another Australian boundary. =)

Heh, have a good night mate.

100 coming up for Warne, with McGrath to support him through the 90s. What a fairy tale!! ??

That decision from Bowden was absolutely atrocious. Look at the keeper. Didn’t go up. Anderson was puzzled in his semi-appeal. And he raises his retarded finger. Well done clown.

    All bow down to Bowden!

    How out: Bowdened

Sitting here biting my nails hoping for warne to make his 50.. or 100? :) Loved the way he came out and took the game straight to Panesar, exactly the kind of psychology thats needed in this situation.

What an interesting 5th test this is shaping up to be. It could really go either way right now.

Boon fans/haters - this is funny but kinda retarded - http://www.davidboonfacts.com

Warne - sledging Collingwood now - while he’s batting!!

“How’s your MBE for getting 7?!!” Funny stuff! And Warne goes to 70!

  • Michael wrote:

They had a bit of a tat earlier in the innings, Aleem Dar had to come in and say something. Comon Warnie!!!

    Another script for you -
McGrath and Warne bowling - take the last two wickets - one each, Warne with the last ball of one over, McGrath in the next over therefore both getting wickets with their last ball in Test Cricket, then Langer coming in to hit the winning runs.

Sorry Cook mate… this is Australia not some India or Pakistan. You get to leave Australia losing 11 runs off your overrated average…

Interesting enough Strauss has had similar wobbles. Prior to meeting Australia in 2005 he was averaging 55.12 but come the end of the Ashes he had lost 5 down to 50.47. Which is amazing because he scored two centuries and it just seemed like he was scoring tons of runs.

Now he came to Australia in 2006 with an average of 46.37 and is currently averaging 43.52.

I feel England have to have a deep examination of their opening pair. What’s going on?

Near fairytail finish for Warne - came out of the cinemas and saw he was on 70, and got excited. Just came home and found he only made one more…I propose he and McGrath open the second innings (provided England pass the 29 odd runs to make Australia bat again)

Terrific bowling by Lee though - to anyone who hasn’t seen him since England 2005, these are the types of performances he has been producing alot more of - tight, fast and threatening.

I like to take this opportunity to thank the England Cricket team. Thanks, you say are undeserved.Thats alittle harsh because without last years series win by a measly 2 runs, Australia wouldn’t of got their ass to play to their potential and show you biannual wooping boys who the best really is…….just in case you forgot for a year or so.Please refer to the current ICC Test Cricket standings( http://www.icc-cricket.com/test/ )for further confirmation. ….And now that we have tasted our second 5-0 result , we look to keep our reputation for the ODIs which we are a little handy at as well.

    Love Your Work England,
    Australia 5-0

    Corey,

It looks a tad ominous when we see Sideshow Symonds learning a bit about batting discipline and our own WA boy(Yeah I know he’s a Redback), Gillie, hitting some form again.

I’d say the ODIs are ours as well, wouldn’t ya say mate.

It’s getting a bit bleedin’ obvious isn’t it. They won The Ashes by 2 runs and lose the Ashes FIVE - NIL!!

    That’s a hammering I’d say.

    Good night from Perth W.A.

Last year, members of the England cricket team received gongs from the Queen. This year, they got the gong again - this time from the Aussies!

It’s no wonder the English lost the Ashes - their bowlers are outmoded - they’re old hat!

Classic! Symonds is asked what the pivotal moment in the Ashes was. Roy answers, “The Boxing Day Test was the pivotal moment…” The crowd laughs. Very cool, very witty stuff from our man Sydmonds!

I just can’t understand why some people think Shane Warne is a poor role model - after all, he rolled more than seven hundred of the buggers!
