  • "The fact is that once I was playing again I was automatically available for everything on the schedule and that meant Stanford. I make no apologies for that and, as for the suggestion that I should waive the fee or give it to charity, I don't see why I should be a special case."
Steve Harmison feels strongly about suggestions that he came out of one-day retirement in order to play the Stanford Twenty20 for 20

    Thanks to the Beeb

Thanks to Chris and Jo at BBC Radio Five Live for conducting my first radio interview. Not nearly as frightening as I expected. I want more now! Well…sort of. Next time, hopefully I won’t sound such a pillock.

You sound less posh than you write, Will

PS I thought you did very well.

Less posh?! Christ. Trust me, I don’t sound like that really. At least I don’t think so. I was desperately trying to form sentences in the correct order…anyway, next time I’ll be a bit more relaxed (assuming there is a next time) and will sound more like me. As one person emailing commentary at Cricinfo said, I’m a cross between Tony Greig and a chav (or something like that). Anyway…

Good work Will! And I like the way they (and you) kept on referring to it as the Corridor of Uncertainty. Bravo!

Hope there are plenty more to come.

It’s always alarming when you hear yourself on TV/radio or any electronic item like a dictaphone. I thought it was a pretty good interview, at least it wasn’t live at 2 in the morning!

Very erudite. Well worth a listen. I agree with Nick, it was great to hear about the Corridor ‘of Uncertainty’. Makes it sound less like a reality show about home renovation.
