100 days until the Ashes

By Will 2 years ago, mid-August Leave a comment on this post

It might seem a long time until Brisbane, but in fact it’s just 100 days until the first Ashes Test of the 2006-07 series. Brett Lee and Michael Clarke will mark the countdown in Sydney tomorrow morning by cutting a cake. Not sure what that signifies, or indeed whether the cake will be made of ashes, but it’s all a bit too exciting for words.

Oh no, a hundred days to go…. do you think that if we asked Cricket Australia, they might just let us keep ashes and not have to go through this agony every 18 months.

I seriously doubt whether I could take another Ashes series like the last. Glued to the radio and internet for three months I failed the finals of my degree !

To paraphrase Noel Coward, ‘the despair I can take; it’s the hope that destroys me’.

At least you won’t have to wait three months this time ;-) The five tests are all over in about 6 weeks!
