Video of Inzamam falling over his stumps

By Will 4 years ago, at the start of August Add your comment below

Inzamam-ul-Haq is a man-mountain. A huge, hulking figure who rarely bothers breaking into a sweat yet is one of the very finest batsman Pakistan has produced. Despite all that, he is still seven parts great to three parts comical – and his dismissal yesterday rather summed him up.

He had played beautifully, cutting powerfully past point to get off the mark and launching a counterattack on England…before he lost his balance. Monty Panesar, bowling around the wicket, tossed one up on his leg stump which turned away and Inzy, attempting a sweep missed it…and lost his balance.

Tumbling over his stumps – he flicked off the bails with his arm – he actually did really well not to crush the stumps completely! If you look at the video below you’ll see the stumps not move an inch. Brilliant to watch – the sound (it’s called music, I think) is absolutely dreadful but, somehow, adds to the whole comical atmosphere of it all.

Inzzie has been involved in peculiar dismissals in the past. This however one takes the cake. He swings at the bowl in what looks like a proper cricket shot. He misjudges not only the ball, swinging early, but also the power of his swing. With the result he keels over and the ball, hitting him on his chest, seems to assist this. Then, seeing the stumps, Inzzie desperately tries to jump over them. He manages but only after removing the bails. Certainly looks comical, but there is a demonstration of some athletisism and quick thinking on Inzzie’s part, contrary to what it appears. But, Well done Monty

Well he is big player and an essential part of Team Pakistan. More than 8000 runs in modes of the game really means something. Yes, it is was a bit hilarious but we don’t forget when he stands up firmly to win the match for Pakistan. Other members of teams must realize and share the responsibility along with Inzy, Yousuf and Younus.

there is no doubt about inzis ability.he is among the geniuses of the game.we should not forget that he is also a human .when he is playing its seems like he is making others play in another words he is a master of the game.being an indian i respect this genius and his game.he has played some fantastic innings for his side and is the backbone of the pakistan team.he still has some cricket in him and he will surely show this in the coming matches.

I reckon Inzi’s pros outweigh his cons in truth. Sure he makes some real schoolboy errors, but how many times has he dug Pakistan out of a hole? It also has to be pointed out that Chris Read had a very lucky escape there, Geraint Jones could’ve been straight back in to replace him if he’d got squished into the ground. Sper-lat.

Looking at some of the comments above, I must remind all that Inzi has given Aaloo to all of the teams and specifically INDIA so many times that it hurts them a lot. So they better keep their mouths shut and look at thier Tandu who is struggling to get into team. And Tando has always let his team down in difficult situations.

Inzi is gret player. A great match winner. Rather the greatest match winner.

Whats so funny about it anyway? He lost his balance so what! One of those things that can happen with any batsmen in the world. Growup guys.

What’s so funny??!! Are you kidding? It’s always funny to see professional sportsmen going tits up. And what’s even funnier is watching the clip with the audio too, very very amusing.

I would like to forward an apology towards all Pakistanis if they are hurt by some stupid (and so called hilarious) comments on Inzy (by calling him ‘aalooo..’). This is one of those misbehaved sectors who does so. I am an Indian, but I have great regards for Pakistani players (if not to all of them). I regard Inzy as one of the finest batsmans of fast bowling of all times.

So, lets be sportive and stop calling names at each other and enjoy the talent on display. Of course, the above video looks funny but that happens, it has happened to greatest of players at times.

    Thanks,
    Deepak
