You can see how much we’re missing Cooley. Plunkett seems more off than on as does Harmison (although, to be fair I think he hasn’t fired consistently since the West Indies). I do think this is a real test for Monty. His economy rate is excellent, given how few games he has played.

However we are dealing with Pakistan’s best batsmen and England’s bowlers must believe that they only have to be lucky once. Might not be a bad idea to try either Bell or Collingwood before lunch too.

I infer from the radio that Inzi and Yousuf are looking very good indeed.

Hi all, sorry to have let the side down, so to speak, but I was away … er … playing cricket. Just got back from Amsterdam. We were destroyed. The Holland team won by 112 runs but we had fantastic weather and a lottsa fun anyway. Great after-match party. Promise to be there tomorrow. Local friendly though can go hang, am tired and would now like a drink. Cheers all!
