    Sehwag’s 180

By Will 2 years ago, mid-June Leave a comment on this post

Blink for a day and you miss an innings. Not been around much to follow any cricket, but have just noticed Virender Sehwag (who I sometimes inadvertantly call Segwah) crunched (smashed, clobbered, belted, pelted) 180 from 190 balls. Ugly! His career strike-rate is now at the obscene average of over 75 which, considering he’s 44 runs from 4000 in Test cricket, is a damn spiffing effort.

Day two is about to start.

Saw a bit of it …missed the rest since I was watching England vs Potrugal at the footie…think I missed out. Read he nearly missed out on hundred before lunch…splendid player.

Yeah that was a funny incident before lunch…last ball 2 to get. He made room and smashed on down looking for 4, hit it to a fielder, took a risky 1, and was so disappointed that missed out on the overthrow that would have given him an easy single! He would have become the first Indian to score a 100 before lunch on day 1. Not sure if anyone else would do it for some time, though :-)
