On or in the Tube?

In the underground (London, for those not in the know), do you go in the Tube, or on the Tube?

I go on the Tube. Please settle this debate for me.

Strange question. I’ve never ever heard someone say they are getting ‘in’ the tube. Never. Not even in overhearing someone who did not have very good English.

It’s got to be on, although of course you could say by as well.

On. Technically you get “in” a bus and a train as well, but you say on. You say “in” a car though.
