Good result for the West Indies says I. Their prospects for the World Cup must have improved after this series. But what has become of India? Maybe they’ve forgotten how to win!

Fantastic result for the Windies - It’s great to have a competitive West Indies side in world cricket again. I’d bet anyone a lump of cheese that if South Africa were touring the Carribean right now, they wouldn’t be getting a 5-0 whitewash like in 2005. Just shows how quickly things can turn around in this game eh?

Wonderful from the Windies - I don’t think a 4-1 scoreline against the 3rd-ranked team in the world can be written off as a flash in the pan, even if it was against those perennial under-achievers abroad, India. In one-day cricket these things are relative though. With the exception of Australia, most teams seem to go through violent swings of form in ODIs over a short period (look at Sri Lanka), and perhaps that just reflects the importance of luck in this form of the game.

The WINDIES at home for the World Cup, now adds another dimension. They’d be certainties to get through to the top eight, from there a couple of performances like these, next thing you know they’re in the top four. Even if they don’t win it, this is a good path back for West Indies cricket - remember Australia in ‘87 and then Sri Lanka in ‘96!

Cricket is back in the West Indies; i missed hearing our champion song play. We are looking ready for the World Cup however there is lots of work to be done.
