Will they won’t they?

Incidentally, after Kevin Pietersen’s fourth Test century, it was made almost exactly 12 months after we were all wondering whether he would even play against Australia. A year is an impossibly long period of time in cricket…

It’s also interesting to reflect on the fact that Michael Vaughan, who was Man of the Series for his batting the last time the Ozzies hosted the Ashes, is now only missed for his captaincy. (And IMHO badly missed for it, too)

Pietersen wasn’t the finished article last year. He is now. Whoever in South Africa was responsible for giving him the impression that he had no future there should beg Desmond Tutu to re-open the Truth & Reconciliation Commission…

Now all we want is for Monty Panesar to hold a return catch… he’s the best spinner we’ve produced since the 1950s (and, no, I haven’t forgotten Deadly Derek).

Interesting, Innocent. Are you thinking of Laker?

    Or Lock, or Wardle…

Tuffers could bowl a bit, couldn’t field. Perhaps they should feed Monty some insects.
