Australia in a canter, sad but true.

Game. On.

Entering into the fifth day, and who thought we’d be writing about this, but the First Test between Bangladesh and Australia could go either way. At stumps, Australia are 212 for 4 chasing 307. Things were looking good for Australia while Hayden and Ponting were at the crease, but Hayden’s run out sparked a late collapse at the end of the day. Adam Gilchrist will resume tomorrow with Ponting.
So anyway, here’s a thread for you all to post predictions. Can Australia get home, or will Bangladesh complete an astonishing Test victory? I am going to go with the upset, on the grounds that Australia rarely wins the close ones, and we just won a close one last week against South Africa. Bangladesh to win by under 20 runs is my guess.

Sigh: of course, I believe that that the Aussies will win. Only 101 on the last day, even though the wicket is breaking up and they are playing - gulp - Bangladesh.
Bangladesh - please - now go for broke and try to bowl ‘em out. Rupture their pride.
It has been an interesting Test to date and I am pleased to see Bangladesh putting up such an excellent fight. Pleased for Bangladesh who have had such rotten press as a Test nation.
I accept no excuses at all - the match is not yet over, but the best Test team in the World actually suffered under the worst ICC minnows.
Rock on! Cricket is the best thing ever, isn’t it?

If Ponting survives the first fifteen minutes, I think it is game over.
If he goes early, it will go down to the wire.

Ponting to be dismissed about 20 runs from the end, with Gilchrist already out, then a tired Australia to limp over the line, wipe their brow and get on with the business of finding a batting line up capable of regaining the Ashes!
