Steve Harmison feels strongly about suggestions that he came out of one-day retirement in order to play the Stanford Twenty20 for 20

    Batting run amok

By Scott 2 years ago, at the end of March Leave a comment on this post

The final of Australia’s domestic first class competition is being played at the Gabba, with Queensland hosting Victoria. According to the competition rules, the host side only has to draw.

A couple of seasons ago, Victoria hosted the final and to ensure that they got the draw, they batted for ages to run up 710. Against Queensland.

Now that the boot is on the other foot, Queensland are taking a brutal revenge. A short time ago, Queensland were 4 for 880. Ouch!

I thought it was the team with the biggest first innings score that won… same logic would apply though, I suppose.

Scott, I was rather hoping that this would go under the radar and you’ve gone and spoilt the whole thing! :-)
    Jeez, what a hammering…
Hope at least Hodge can get another ton today and stave off the outright win.
Is it a victory for Victoria if only four Queensland batsmen scored centuries, but five of the Vic bowlers got tons? :-)

I was there on Sunday sitting next to the players enclosure when Maher turned harwood off his legs for one. At which point there was general applause from the small crowd. one of the Victorian support staff said “What was that for?”. It was with some relish I informed him the polite crowd was celebrating the bowlers century of runs without a wicket.

By the way the Queenslanders after declaring at 6 for 900 then went and bowled the victorians out shortly after lunch on the last day.
