Surely street cricket deserves its own website or coffee-table book, does anyone know of one ?

It seems to be gripping Britain now, in addition to its continued hegemony in the subcontinent.

I have played on this ground. I am certain of it. Whilst cycling round the subcontinent I was ‘last man picked’ for a game with a bunch of 12 yearolds on this very pitch.

Some of these 12 yearolds had quite whippy actions, and were surprisingly quick. The lumpy patches just on a length meant getting forward was re rigeur.

The lack of a sight screen and the busy road on leg for the right hander tested the concentration.
