What a major, but expected, turnaround! I posted a comment on D1 within the first few hours showing England’s RPO of a healthy 5.29.
Its now about the same time as D1 and the RPO is a pale 2.68 in comparision. But Colly holding out thus far.

Despite Chris’ Burnt Bail comments that it’s a “nothing sort of score”, I think 246 for 7 is way below the mark. I suppose, given England’s farcical preparations, it’s about as good as they could expect. India, however, must be sitting pretty happy - especially given the ironing board-flat pitch. My Indian colleages at Cricinfo must be laughing their backsides off by now. Anyway, it’s day two - so by the time I wake from my pit, I expect to see a flurry of comments to keep me up-to-date! Chat away like the cricket-starved wallies you are.

Harmy says, “It’s not over yet.”
Morning all - I wake up as Colly hits a six to take him to 99 andthen a four to take him to 103. Nice way to wake up.
Awfully quiet here today. The Englishmen are missing a truly great knock from Pollingwood.
Actually managed to watch some cricket this morning, thanks to my local gym.
And now Sehwag is out! Oh ye of little faith…
Morning all,
was awake and listening early this morning. Wow! PC wouldn’t start though. Am now gloating in the office!
Great to watch my mandatory half hour this morning with my weetabix and see Sehwag get out. Was hoping to see Panesar in action, but all I saw was a woeful bit of fielding. Anyway, I wonder if last night’s dream of Blackwell and Jones getting big centuries in the second innings will come true. Methinks not.
Wraye and RJ, thanks for visiting my blog yesterday. It was nice to get a couple of comments.
Those are some amazing skyscrapers, Christopher!
How do you rate our chances of a wicket before stumps? Come on all, let’s praise Jaffer to the skies
he’s bound to be out then.
My prediction: Jaffer caught bat/pad for 52 of Panesar. Dravid follows next over to Blackwell off his first delivery in Test cricket. Yes, I am a Somerset fan.
Collingwood and Jaffer
Paul Collingwood and Wasim Jaffer stood out on the second day of the first Test between England and India at Nagpur. Collingwood finally made his maiden century. When I’ve watched the highlights I’ll post some more thoughts, and I’m particularly
Panesar can bat and occupy the crease, which helped Collingwood get his century. What was all the talk about him being hopless?
Fancyclown - thanks also for visiting my site. You know, I’m really touched that you lot take the time to comment on my blog as well. Do none of you have work to do? No, me neither.
I thought they would always play Panesar from the moment they took him to India. He’s that rare thing in England - a wicket-taking spinner. Udal would have just been used as rest for the seamers. Come on Monty!

anyone know why trescothick flew back?
Since everyone’s talking on everyone else’s blog, I’ll put me hat in the fray in response to Tykrane’s query on Tresco’s return.
Not Just Cricket: India v England 2006: The Trescothick Story
Not Just Cricket: India v England 2006: England in all sorts with 4 days to T1
Whatever it may be. I hope it gets sorted and England can make use of Tresco’s talent at the very earliest.
Cheers
Tykrane,
I suppose a Sun or Mirror correspondent could be ivestigating that as we speak, and the news might be out by the mid/end of this tour, who knows, at the moment though, the reasons for him flying back will remain “undisclosed personal” ones, and I respect his privacy, so no special ivestigations from my side on finding why…
I’m with Zany - it’s none of our business. Whatever it is, I hope that it can be resolved.
What Jess & Zany said.
Watcha, Sean. How’s tricks?
The languid class of Steven Harmison
Steve Harmison’s gem of an innings was a rare highlight for England on the second day at Nagpur
