Hey, I was actually 12th man for a 3rd division league game between my alma mater (Nanyang Tech. Univ) and [some other side] at the Padang (which is where this shot was taken).

I was actually a first XI regular, masquerading as a bowler who could bat [having once famously rescued my side from the depths of 120/7 to end up at 200 in a 30 over-a-side 3rd division game + taking 3/36 in 8 overs to win that game for my team. On another occasion, I helped my side get within three runs of a target of 30 more to get in 3 overs with 2 wickets in hand]. But I’d recently injured my little finger after colliding with a team-mate even as I tried to take a catch at mid-on ‘Aussie style’. The game at the Padang was part of my comeback :)

No Will, we’re talking of mid 1990s. I think the only couple of cricket pictures from Singapore I have were from ‘Indian Association’ and ‘Ceylon Cricket Club’ which I need to dig up from my ‘archives’.

Oh, and I couldn’t find a suitable post to comment on your write-up on Panesar, but I’m fairly sure Australia’s one-test tour of India in 1996/7 had a fairly hopeless spin bowling lineup - Brad Hogg & Peter McIntyre.
