Last week, I posted a photo of Highbury Cricket Club, which has now been closed down (look at the photo). The Great-Grandson of the club curator, Jim Moulton, left a comment recently which all of you should read. He’s hoping to get back in touch with any of the following. So, if you’re reading, leave a comment below and I’ll pass your details onto Derry.
Mick Deighton and his lads lee and mark
Eileen Lee (who i see around meanwood), Harry Lee and family.
Ken…
howard…
Rod and helen langstaff
Rhea, Bolly and Susan
Mick
John Maglashan (sp)

Hi,
I represent a local sports club that is looking to relocate in the Headingley area. I would be interested to know who owns the site of Highbury Cricket Club and to make contact with anyone who was an officer of the Club at the time that it folded.

My name is David Horsey and was a scorer and player from me being 8 or 9 ie 1955 onwards. I used to help Jim on a saturday morning prepare the ground. He was quite a characture and have known him take the wickets home when the groyund was too wet even if every one thought different. I even remember his daughter being gala queen for the day in meanwood I had many happy days at highbury and it is so sad to see it its present position

I played at Highbury in the final season before it went out of business. Played for the Under 17’s in a season where we didnt win a game! Yet still enjoyed ever day of it and would love to play there again
Anyone know whats going on with the ground at the moment?
Cheers,
Joel
