Andrew “Roy” Symonds

The crowd goes ballistic when he strides to the crease. For a guy that has been around since 1999, and been a proven matchwinner in the Australian side since the 2003 World Cup, it is curious that it has taken until now for the Australian public to embrace him in this way.

People have know he is good from the start. I think it’s just that that one inning (70-odd) in the test against South Africa when he (atleast partially) redeemed his test career brought about the major turnaround. Atleast on the test arena until that inning, he was a cricketer people looked at with sympathy- someone who had mastered one art, but seemed hopelessly uncomfortable at the other. For him to have fought adeversity, in the manner he did, really endeared him to crowds more than ever before.

No one can ever look nice in dreadlocks, Scott, even Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise would suck in dreadlocks! Dreadlocks are unhygienic, how often do people having dreadlocks wash their hair? And I bet it has a strange, unhealthy affect on blood circulation in the scalp region too…

OK, so may be not all of this perfectly true …but still, how can anyone approve of dreadlocks. They’re awful, scary things, they should be banned.
