Funny what a week away from cricket does. I’m back (hello) from my hiatus (not the hernia - what is a hiatus hernia…?), and was pleasantly surprised to see South Africa perform so strongly against Australia today. This could be a real cracker of a series in which to end the year, although I still fear for South Africa’s brittleness. Always enjoyable to hear G.Smith’s press conferences; no doubt there’ll be some gems in the next few weeks!

I’ll get back to blogging like the cricket-starved fool I am soon as…splendid.

was worth every decibel of hype, wasn’t it? yes the balance of power is shiftin my friend, although whence it blows is still a swirl. all the top 5 teams seems pretty even now. great to see saffies and ntini finally coming into their own. with the pakis and poms also pulling out some good quicks, i suspect the years of drought are now passed. rejoice!

ps: A hiatus hernia is when part of the stomach slides through the diaphragm, it has no symptoms, but can cause pain and heartburn. It is not usually a serious condition, and often needs no treatment. Any symptoms can usually be treated with drugs, or if severe, an operation. (Sorry, but I love being pedantic!)
