Can England pull it back to level the series, or will Pakistan be too strong? Both teams have lost key players and I think Osman Samiuddin sums up the situation rather eloquently and simply:

Eventually though, all these factors (weather permitting of course) will go into the making of only one question, one that decides this series. Is winning a series after two years more important to Pakistan than avoiding a series loss after two years is to England?

At lunch England are 93 without loss. There’s not much in the pitch and Pakistan have a hard road ahead. England on the other hand to push on towards 200 at tea.

I wasn’t sure why they put Colly in before KP either, but maybe it’s a confidence thing. KP is used to batting at 5 these days, so they presumably want to shuffle the order as little as possible. I dunno.

Chris, I have no idea why they are starting on a Tuesday. Who understands the ineffable ICC these days? The season being as it is, it is going to be impossible to get the necessary overs in - practically 50 to 60 overs lost - almost a whole days play in the subcontinental winter. I certainly hope it is over by Friday - my nerves cannot stand anymore and I have to score an indoor tournament on Saturday!

Mani, there is fine for mis-leading the umpire by raising the bat to show there was no nick (or there was a nick, in case of lbw). I seem to remember someone was penalised for that.

Great cricket by Pakistan in the last session so far - exemplary short bowling by Shoaib and Rana. And what do you call that shot Superman Jonsey played, a brain explosion , was it what Beefy called! Lovely!

Collingwood should have been out on 54, big inside edge off Shoaib, but Hair didn’t see/hear it! :rolleyes:

Now if we can somehow get Udal out of the way Collingwood out of the way before stumps, I’d fancy our chances of bowling out England for

Yes, I did mean 300…my internet went AWOL just after I press submit, so that’s probably why the less couple of words.

Anyway, our day, hands down. Shoaib and Rana have bowled beautifully all day long, with the new ball just 3 overs away, and neither of Udal or Collingwood exactly looking comfortable against Rana and Shoaib in their last spells, we should be exteremely confident of wrapping ups things fairly quickly tomorrow.
