Did you really expect Australia to have trouble playing the Windies at home? I think the match might have been closer if the Aussies had won the Ashes, but in getting beaten they learned some lessons, added some youth, and came out fired up. If the Windies are true to form, Lara will score a double century at some point – probably when it can’t help them win. But otherwise they’re overmatched.

As for England, is it ever easy to win on the subcontinent? England was awesome on the green swinging wickets at home with a healthy Simon Jones, but they are in totally different conditions, and probably fatigued from the travel and change of environment and food.

Eeek. Hopefully Vaughan isn’t out for the entire series – that would be a Bad Thing.

Caroline – I saw that too, and was wondering what on earth was going on. And yes, hoping against hope that we weren’t really 76/7, or whatever it was at one stage.

Of course we’ll all be up early for the series! (Ulp…)

Did anyone see the BBC and ECB scorecards on the web during the first day’s play with Pakistan A? During the first session they both had England batting and 7/76. Then at lunch the BBC scorecard changed to have Pakistan A batting and 7/76, with Vaughan taking three catches, Hoggard two wickets, etc. About half an hour later the ECB scorecard changed to the same thing, yet both sites had articles about England’s batting collapse. I was getting my hopes up that it was a hoax, and Pakistan A were actually batting, but then in the second session the scorecards changed back to England collapsing . . . alas. But what actually happened? Was someone tampering with the web sites or what?! I might add that I don’t think Cricinfo ever changed.
