The Corridor’s doors are closing

By Will 3 years ago, at the end of October Leave a comment on this post

Unfortunately I’m going to have to change the name of the blog quite soon, for I am infringing a registered trademark (”The Corridor of Uncertainty,” obviously). So - add your thoughts as to what I should rename it and, in a few days, I’ll pick the top 5 and run a poll. I’m not suggesting I’ll choose any of your suggestions, but it ought to keep you busy for a few minutes.

Get creative!

Gah, that’s a bit of a shame! For a minute though when I read your title I thought you were closing down the blog entirely, so phew.

Just off the top of my head, I thought of “The Jaffa”, but then you might also have problems with that too… So how about:

“The Kevin Pietersen Factor”? Would acknowledge the immense popularity of one of your posts, and would also get the ladies visiting.
Or “The Whole Twenty-Two Yards” (oo-er). Cheesy, and you might have problems with some film-makers…
Or “The Twelfth Man”. Though there is already a blog called this and it has little to do with cricket.
How about “Bunnies and Rabbits”, to confuse animal lovers? (I’m clutching at straws now).
    Maybe “Through The Gate”.
Or as a reference to some of your posts, “Silly Point”. (Just kidding)

Right, that’s all I can think of for now.

Trying to be sensible here, how about “first wicket stand” or “Middle order”?

Not so seriously, how about “Burning Deck”, in celebration of famous boy playing cricket on said surface?

“Middle wicket” is out - no pun intended - it is a registered type of beer.

Hmm… what about ‘cow corner’ or may be ‘extras’ or ‘follow through’ or something like that …but I still can’t think of any thing quite as unique and catchy as CoU!

Do you really have to change the name, William? ‘Cause I quite love CoU :(

Bummer about the trademark issue. Thanks to trademarks, there are lots of things with really stupid names, but you’ve got a lot of great suggestions here.

I was going to say “Silly Point”, too, or “The KP Fan Club”.

Here are a few other ideas:

    As the Pitch Turns
    The Slips Cordon
    Cracking Good Shots
    The Members’ Stand
    On the Front Foot
    On the Back Foot
    Off Stump
    The Fourth Umpire
    The New Ball
    Pull Shots
    Down the Pitch
    The Bouncer
    Bouncers Galore
    Owzat!
    The Pavillion
    The Pavillion End
    The Long Room
    The Forward Defense
    The Rough Outside Leg
    The Boundary Rope
    Outside the Boundary
    Fielding Restrictions

  • Elliott wrote:

    Continuing on from before…
    “Taking Will’s Wicket”
    “Booowling Will”

“The Fall of a Wicket” (FoW)
    “Change of Innings”
“Day 6″ (like the 19th hole in golf)
    “The Third Dig”
    “Over and Out”

    Try some famous commentator sayings…
“Morning All” (Or what ever it is)

    Um…..
    “A good Length”
    “Right Online”
    “The Perfect Line”
    “Right on the Money”
    “Over the Rope”
    “Into the Stands”
    “Top Edge”
    “Green Light”
    “Through the Covers”
    “Bad Light”
    “Back to the Pavilion”
    “90 MPH” (Bloody imperial poms)
    Drawing blank again…

    “accounted for tiny hit error”

    Others

    The channel of confusion
    The passage of procrastination
    The hallway of horrors
    The alley of edges
    The tunnel of turmoil
    The angle of angst
    The lobby of woes

    Outside Off
