Who should captain World XI for the Test? Results

By Will 5 years ago, mid-October Add your comment below

Well, you’re all very hilarious. Stupid Will decided to allow you to add your own entries to the poll, to decide: Who should captain World XI for the Test? The last entry was for someone’s Grandmother, which just about sums up the poll’s pointlessness! Unless………nah.

Anyway, Michael Vaughan was the clear winner, with 33% of the 184 votes; Inzamam-ul-Haq was second, with 11% closely followed by, yes, Gary Pratt. He’s NOT EVEN PLAYING! But thanks for the joke, it did raise a smile.

Last time I let any of you loose on deciding who else should be in a poll :)

Speaking of Gary Pratt, is he enjoying is new found popularity or what!?! Ashling O’Connor in The Insider for The Times revealed that Garry Pratt along with four other ‘Ashes Heroes’ (i.e. Ashley Giles, Mathew Hoggard, Simon Jones and Ian Bell) are in line to face up to Anne Robinson on a special episode of BBC’s The Weakest Link this month before the tour to Pakistan.

I don’t get all this sycophancy about Vaughan’s captaincy. Yes, we won the Ashes, but Vaughan was not a good captain on the field. He nearly lost us the Second Test, and much of his stuff seemed to be heavily pre-prepared in team meetings with the coach. On his batting from, he’s lucky to still be in the side.
