This is worth a look. Comment on the series from Bill Brown, Australia’s oldest living test cricketer.

    http://www.smh.com.au/news/cricket/legend-reflects-on-the-series/2005/09/12/1126377255452.html

Cut and paste the URL and reflect on how damned good this wonderful sport of cricket is and how good was the series we have just witnessed.

And a big thank you to the Australian cricket team on being part of the greatest series ever. They may have lost the Ashes but the level of sportsmanship displayed by both teams was absolutely outstanding. Tough and uncompromising cricket but played in the true spirit of the game. They will never be the “losers” in my eyes. They played an equal part in the greatest sporting drama I will probably ever see in my life.

And the drama lasted two months. I could not ask for more.

I love cricket. Simply the best.

Has the English county system improved much recently? I heard that rationale about the English county system being weak as recently as a couple years ago. How do you even judge the quality of a county system other than by how well the national side it feeds into is playing?

    THE ASHES

I don’t suppose there’s a weirder sporting trophy anywhere on the planet. Then again, cricket is a strange and wonderful game. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, all is explained here.) The Corridor of Uncertainty has

What a day, WHAT A DAY!

KP was awesome, Collingwood’s performance for an hour was great and Gilo’s 50, what can I say!

There were some pretty drunk people around the Oval after I left last night, mostly wrapped in Union flags.

    2-1 to the Eng-er-land!
