And now Bell falls. To Warne…was it the straight-on one? Can’t remember…104-3, with lunch coming up. Australia’s session…England need to consolidate. Strauss and Kevin Pietersen at the crease.

all he had to do was stay in…
Is that so much to ask of our top batsmen?

Lunch:- great toss to win looks like a very dry deck, but will it last three let alone four or five days (That is not a rhetorical question) Vaughan better be ready to bowl some overs because he’s fucked up again with the Bat. Bell seems to have been cast as Englands stooge in this series, coming in after the cavalier skipper generally under pressure.

well, here we go on the roller-coaster ride again. I felt really calm during the first 15 overs but the fingernails are in danger again.
Vaughan really deserves a smack round the ear for that innings and I really can’t understand why Bell has turned out to be such a bunny.
Still, fair dues, Warne is doing the business as expected, damn him, but the others really did not bowl up to standard. I am not sure of some of Ponting’s field placings either.
I think the pitch will hold out of 4 days.
Now the big question is, is Pietersen going to give us a good, mature performance, or is he going to strike out dramatically and be out like a plonker for bugger all?
