Well if they get it that is great news for the powers that be. Also on a totally unrelated issue I was flicking around the TV dial last night and found the ICC Cricket Show. Broadcast on something called AZN television.I live in Virginia and am an American. Please don’t hold that against me
For those of you lucky enough to live where cricket is shown as a almost daily occurence this may not seem like that big a deal. For me having lived in Australia for a few years and having fallen in love with the game last night was a great night for me. Thanks for listening.

Both Australia and New Zealand are competing to host the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Oh, my mistake, it’s a joint bid - which is a relief, to be honest ![]()

Good to hear, Robert - it’s quite a good show, and must be a God-send for you! I take it you’re an Aussie supporter then?

Will, I read somewhere that India is also planning to bid. Can’t seem to find the link now. Anyway I hope commercial interests are not primary factorin deciding the winner, as I seriously don’t want a farcical tournament in India where its month long festival of ‘beating the pulp out of the cricket ball’. I really hate ODIs in the subcontinent ![]()
Well, okay, there’s a hidden agenda also - the India team has started faring really badly in the home ODIs (the reasons…some other day
But anyway, I love the ODI tournaments, and also the tv coverage in Aus, Eng, Nz.

In my heart yes I would say I am a Australian supporter, however I enjoy good competion and would like nothing better then to see other nations rise to the Australians. Easier said then done. I’m looking for England to make a good series of it. I wish them the best of luck.
