Slater joining Channel 4

By Will 3 years ago, at the end of May Leave a comment on this post

Following his admittance of depression, I had hoped Channel 4 would renew Michael Slater’s contract as a commentator this year - and they have. Great news. He’s enthusiastic, interesting and a good foil for Mark Nicholas this summer.

Oh goody! I kinda felt that the commentary team at Lord’s had just one FEC (former England captain) too many… and if even Alec Stewart can break off in mid-sentence when the ball is being bowled, surely Mark Nicholas can learn to as well? (Not that I don’t enjoy his stints - I do.)

Mark’s a good cricket journalist but annoys me intently on the TV…better than Botham and Paul “Crunched through the off side” Allot

    Dear Sirs
Please tell me how on earth did Ian Bell get in the England side, how dare him put on a England shirt, who does he know?
his performance and contribution has been absolutely dismal,
In my opinion the selectors should have gone cap in hand to Thorpe and encourage him to play, I am absolutely convinced that England would have WON the ashes without playing before the last test

    Regards Alan Constable
