I can remember FST bowling to similar fields in the County Championship, never mind test matches - though I have to say that he would have at least one leg slip included in the nine.

The occasion is New Zealand v Australia, 2nd Test at Eden Park, 1976/77. NZ was nine down in its second innings, the facing batsman being Peter Petherick (who couldn’t bat) partnered by Ewen Chatfield (who was worse).

lovely picture. been a long time since I saw it.
But i’ve always wondered…for how long did the field stay that way, and what actually happened after this particular (when the snap was taken) delivery was bowled?

i reckon that denis lille was a very good bowler and i think that he should stil be playing cricket for australia now that his knee is better
