Wow. Both Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara will play in the Tsunami fundraiser on June 14. Sachin in charge of the MCC (!) and Brian the international XI. Brilliant

Yep, great news. I just hope this one is played more seriously than the last one. I mean charity and good-cause is all fine, but dont give us ‘it doesn’t matter who won or lost’ at the end of the game !
In fact if this motto is well advertised before the start, I’m sure many viewers may opt out. After all there are many more genuine ways of making your charity money reach the destination!

I hate cricket non-serious cricket…am ready to watch B’desh-Zim sweat it out over 5 days than ‘good-cause…cricket is the winner’ crap

Interesting angle, Manish, but surely the cause is for the Tsunami after all? I’ve paid nearly Â£100; some, most or all of which is going towards the relief (I naively presume).

But I take your point - I’m hoping it’ll be a game full of excitement, class and talent. Some of the best players in the world - and Stephen Fleming - are playing. After all - cricket will be the winner!

Hmm…now I think I didnt make my point clear. Yes much of this money may actually go to charity, I’m not doubting that. What I was saying was that, in my opinion, its not worth watching a cricket match where fielders laugh at each massive hit (from Pontings cheating bat ;-)…I cannot watch non-serious games.

And yes cricket is always the winner ! I just want it to win with more sweat

Well ive got the tickets and can’t wait and i do agree with the majority of your opinions with many sport, even if it is for charity should be played competitively!! I mean you got so many class class players (especialy from india!) that they all have a point to prove.
